What’s Happening
REGIONAL is upgrading our core banking systems on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
This is a major update. We are switching to a completely new system that will be faster, more secure, more stable and have some exciting new features.
However, this also means there will be temporary service disruptions, from 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 30th through 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 2nd.
What You Need to Know: a Timeline
Tuesday, September 30, 2025: 5:00 p.m.
- The conversion begins
- Online Banking and Mobile Banking will be unavailable
- Debit Cards will begin operating under offline limits
Wednesday, October 1, 2025: all day
- All REGIONAL branches and drive-ups will be closed for the entire day
- Online and Mobile banking remain unavailable
- Debit Cards will continue under offline limits
Thursday, October 2, 2025: 9:00 a.m.
- REGIONAL branches will reopen for normal business hours
- Debit Cards return to normal functionality
Thursday, October 2, 2025: 10:00 a.m.
- Online Banking will be available
- Mobile Banking will be available with our new app, available in the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android)
What You Need to Do
Plan Ahead
If you anticipate needing cash during the service interruption, be sure to withdraw it ahead of time. If you anticipate large Debit Card purchases, either withdraw cash, make those transactions ahead of time, postpone them, or have an alternative payment method in place.
Please note that REGIONAL Credit Cards will not be affected by the conversion in any way. If you have a REGIONAL Platinum Credit Card but haven’t activated it yet, now may be the time to do so.
Get the New REGIONAL Mobile App
We’re really excited that the new Mobile App will have ALL of the same features as Online Banking, not just SOME or MOST of the same features.
However, this requires a completely new app instead of simply updating the old one. After the conversion is complete, you’ll need to install our all-new mobile app from the App Store (iOS) or Play Store (Android), and UN-install the old one.
We will put links to the new apps here (and in other places) as soon as they’re available.
Re-Enroll in Online or Mobile Banking
Members will also need to re-enroll in Online or Mobile Banking. The good news is, it’s easy, and once you’ve done one, you’re enrolled in the other. Both the new app and the website will walk you through re-enrollment, but we’ll post instructions online as well.
Additional Details
What is a “Core?”
Our “core” is the system on which all our banking functions take place. Teller transactions, online activities, loan applications. It’s like the central nervous system for a financial institution.
Why is REGIONAL Upgrading?
Simply put, we have outgrown our old core. Our new system promises to be faster, more secure and more stable, and it can grow with the credit union over time. The new core is fully integrated, with every function designed to work together seamlessly.
Why Does Everything Have to Go Offline for a Day?
We wish it didn’t. We don’t like downtime any more than our members! But this isn’t just any old software update. This is major surgery, and the only way to make sure the transition goes smoothly is to shut everything down while our team, and the people behind the new system, work together to get everything up and running and ready to serve members when we come back. Our team has been training for months on the new system, so that REGIONAL can provide the service you’ve come to expect, the second we reopen on Thursday the 2nd.
Will Anything Change for Me?
Only for the better! Your account numbers and card numbers will stay the same. The website will look the same. You'll still get awesome service when you call or come into a branch.
But all of our electronic services will be better, faster, safer, more intuitive. Online and Mobile Banking will be fully integrated, with the same features—no more "you can't do that in Mobile, you'll have to use the website version instead." There will be fewer service interruptions because the new system will be much more robust and stable.
